With the new year, we have some exciting new transitions within our team at The Joy House. In August we announced that the Metcalfs, who have been on staff since 2014, would be transitioning out of their houseparenting role. They were able to fully transition out of that role over our Christmas break in late December and we have since hired new houseparents out of Kentucky, the Richardsons, that will be starting mid-February. We look forward to sharing their bio with you in our next E-News edition and encourage you all to get to know them and welcome them to the ministry.
We also want to announce that Ali, who has a professional background in marketing and community relations, has taken on a new part-time role within the ministry as Director of Communications. Ali has always felt strongly about “believing in what she is selling” and is excited to use her professional skills paired with her belief in what God is doing through the Joy House to increase the awareness of our ministry and reach more lives in need of our services. Meanwhile, Richard will also continue to serve in the Pickens County community as the Area Representative for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Youth Pastor of Mountain City Church. You also might run into him on campus every now and again when he is assisting with our ministry’s maintenance needs. We are grateful that God has opened doors for the Metcalfs to stay in the community where they can continue to minister to teens and families while raising their two boys. Richard is currently raising support for his role with FCA, and if you would like more information about this you may view his support letter by clicking on the image below or donate directly at FCA’s website by clicking here
