On July 25, 2019, our girl’s home celebrated the program graduation of Kylie as family, staff, and friends gathered in her honor. Much was shared about Kylie’s accomplishments and growth during her season at The Joy House that Kylie recognized as saving her life. Here is a portion of what Kylie shared in her testimony;
“While coming to the Joy House was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do, it has been so rewarding. In my short time here, the Lord has done so much in my heart, life and in my family. The Joy House has given me the tools and coping skills that I didn’t have before. I am so grateful for all the changes I have seen in myself, my family, my relationship with God, and my relationship with my stepmom. I am also extremely grateful for the education that I received while at the Joy House. Before coming to the Joy House, I never thought I would ever be able to succeed at anything school-related. The Joy House has given me the confidence I never had. If it weren’t for the Joy House, I more than likely wouldn’t have had a chance at finishing high school.
With the help of many people at the Joy House, I have grown in more ways than I ever thought possible. My houseparents provided the tough love and encouragement I needed to push through my trials. The tools and life skills given to me by Mr. Darren have helped me grown not only in my relationships but as a person. And, with the help and support of Ms. Robin, I have achieved more than I ever thought I could. She showed me what I was capable of, and believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself. I am so grateful for the time I spent here and all that I have learned. I can’t wait to see how the lessons I have learned at the Joy House will further my growth in the future.”
We are so grateful that the Lord allowed Kylie to come to The Joy House and we were able to impact her life for the better. We look forward to hearing about Kylie’s successes as she continues her education. Congratulations, Kylie! We love you!
