I hope this finds you well this week as we pause to take time and be thankful. As I thought about Thanksgiving this year the verse that came to mind was, 1 Thessalonians 5:18 which says, “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”. This year has provided all of us with some difficult circumstances. Potentially one thing the Lord is doing during this year is testing our faith to see if we can still be grateful. That can be difficult.
In the midst of all these challenges, we have still seen the faithful hand of God here at The Joy House. The lives of the teens and families we serve have continued to change. We’ve seen many of our client/friends find healing through our counseling center. God has graciously provided for our financial needs and in many other ways. I can find many things to be thankful for and recognize that some of the challenges presented were opportunities for blessings.
I’m certainly thankful for each of you, as partners, who continue to make this ministry possible through prayers, giving and provision of other resources. We are approaching our 20th anniversary and that would be impossible except for the grace and mercy of God through you.
The Lord is always working on behalf of those who love Him. Romans 8:28 promises that even in the midst of difficult circumstances. I hope you can join me in giving thanks to God and trusting that indeed “all things will work together for good”.
