One of the academic benefits of moving up to Phase 2 is the opportunity to study Ham Radio Operations as an elective at the Joy House Academy. This class, taught by our Director of Education and veteran radio Extra-Class operator, Ron Rucker, entails learning law, operation skills, and principles of electronics. At the end of instruction, a student is able to study for the licensing test, which he takes on a Saturday morning. Our most recent recipient of the Ham Radio Operator’s Technician license is Robert Campo, a senior at the Joy House Academy. In addition to the license, Robert received his very own radio! Good job, Robert! Enjoy your conversations with fellow operators around the world.
