Welcome to Our New Girl’s Home House Parents

Welcome to Our New Girl’s Home House Parents

We are delighted to share with you that we have hired new girl’s house parents to open a second home for girls. We want to welcome Chase and Veronica Allen along with their son Aiden, to The Joy House team.
If you missed our news in previous months, we are temporarily opening our boy’s home to serve girls to meet a more immediate need. The Allens, along with the girls their serving, will move to our new girl’s home when construction is complete. At that time we will then reopen the boy’s home to serve young men and their families.

Executive Director, Steve Lowe had this to say regarding the Allens.

“We are excited to welcome Chase and Veronica to our team. They are a young couple who have a demonstrated track record of loving Christ and teens. Our staff have enjoyed getting to know them and believe they will be a great fit on our team. We all appreciated the humble, teachable, approachable attitude that is part of who they are. We look forward to opening our second girl’s home under their care. We know our partners will give them a warm welcome to Jasper.”

Below is a brief bio for them.

Chase and Veronica met in 2013 working together for a local skating rink. After dating a few years, Chase and Veronica got engaged in 2016 and married in 2017, serving as youth leaders and Sunday school teachers for the church throughout those years.

In early 2018, Veronica was working as an administrative assistant for a children’s home in Mobile, AL, and soon found out that she was pregnant with their first child. After finding out more about the campus care side of the children’s home, Chase and Veronica were interested in becoming house parents. After welcoming their son, Aiden, into the world in October 2018, they soon transitioned to be relief house parents for the boy’s and girl’s home in December of 2018. Chase and Veronica continued to pray fervently for the Lord to lead them where He needed them to serve. They knew that this is where there calling was and continued to work in the Campus care ministry for two years.

Knowing there was a call on their lives to serve in this way they began praying during 2021 for a new opportunity when they discovered the house parent position at The Joy House. Here is what they have to say about coming to serve as girl’s house parents:

“We are so blessed to serve alongside the wonderful team that is The Joy House.  From the moment we stepped foot into Jasper, it has immediately felt like home for us. We cannot wait to love and minister to every young lady who comes through our home and watch how God moves to restore their families.”
